The Natural Park Fragas do Eume is the most important coastal Atlantic forest preserved in Europe. It was declared as such in 1997. Comprises five municipalities of 9,125 hectares of the park: As Pontes, Monfero, A Capela, Cabanas and Pontedeume. Fragas Eume The last refuge include a wealth of species. Today we can distinguish two major features that are unique to these forests: the typical landscape of millions of years ago in coastal Galicia and the various native species, including a large number of endemic species.
